TEMCO, a blockchain-powered supply chain platform, and 6gram, a livestock distribution management startup, will join hands to build a livestock product distribution platform.
The two companies announced Wednesday that they would co-develop a platform where bitcoin smart contract technology is applied. Specifically, TEMCO will provide 6gram with an RSK (Rootstock)-based supply chain management solution. This will enable 6gram to transparently disclose the entire distribution process, ranging from a contract with livestock farmers to processing, packaging and delivery, to consumers.
6gram, a startup seeking to be an online one-stop shop dealing with meat, will offer differentiated services including buying fresh meat directly from producers. TEMCO says the marriage of 6gram’s livestock network with the blockchain-based supply chain technology will ensure the creation of the stable distribution environment of livestock products. If information on meat is shared transparently, restaurant operators and ordinary consumers will be able to buy livestock products without fear.
“Our bitcoin-based supply chain will make it possible to keep track of locations and temperatures in real time in meat delivery and distribution,” said TEMCO CEO Yoon Jae-seop, adding that blockchain technology will enable the supply of foods that are safe to eat. /edshin@decenter.kr
