'Luniverse can complete DApp designing in 30 minutes'

Blockchain-powered platform boasts 'easy to use, productivity and reasonable cost'

Head of lambda256 Park Jae-hyun

“Until DApps (decentralized applications) are developed successfully, blockchain still shows lots of limitations in various processes, from technical development to planning, platform adoption and post-development operation. Lambda256 is unveiling ‘Luniverse,’ a blockchain platform that helps DApp developers and businesses focus on their own projects by tackling these problems.”

Park Jae-hyun, head of lambda256, a blockchain research lab affiliated with Dunamu operating the cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, opened Luniverse to the public during his lecture on the “blockchain sidechain design for BaaS 2.0” at the Upbit Developer Conference 2018 held in the southern resort island of Jeju Friday. “Luniverse has a convenient UI (user interface) enabling the designing of a simple DApp in 30 minutes. Companies will be able to focus on core competence of the service rather than concern about blockchain technology,” he said.

Luniverse, a “Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) platform,” is a blockchain-powered cloud platform on the basis of distributed governance and autonomous network. Like cloud products from such giants as Amazon and Microsoft, Luniverse helps companies build blockchain platforms without a hitch, relieving them of obligations to create blockchain directly. “Luniverse aims to be a decentralized blockchain service. Unlike centralized players such as Amazon that build their own clouds to manage data centrally, Luniverse is surely ‘decentralized’ in that it runs services with participating partners,” Park said.

Luniverse’s strong points include “easy to use, productivity (convenient and secure development environment) and reasonable cost.” By using the Luniverse platform, you can build blockchain-based token economies easily and create the blockchain ecosystem through the adoption of your own mainnet. It also allows you to save on the total cost of ownership incurred in developing and operating blockchain services in such diverse areas as hiring, education and management. You can develop and operate blockchain services according to the “Pay As You Go” scheme instead of shouldering all the costs if you use Luniverse. This means that a project team has only to pay for expenses while keeping the platform through such activities as issuing tokens and maintaining the mainnet.

Businesses are able to manage and simultaneously use their own networks through Product Chain, a sidechain connected to the Luniverse network by six nodes. Park said, “Luniverse will make it possible for users to maximize the value by allowing them to choose whatever blockchains, say the mainnet or the cloud-based Product Chain,” adding that “through the Luniverse platform, any network can be a bigger Luniverse network, which would in turn grow as a central network by linking up with another main network.”

Meanwhile, lambda256 plans to make public the Luniverse platform in the fourth quarter of this year after opening its testnet on Sept. 18.
